The PHILIPPINE FEDERATION OF CREDIT COOPERATIVES – NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION is a regional federation created and organized in accordance with the provisions of the Republic Act No. 6938. This was formed by the majority of the members of the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives who are operating exclusively within the Philippine territorial boundaries of the National Capital Region. On September 22, 1999, the organization was finally registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) after its five (5) years of operation. Thereby, achieving juridical personality to further boost its fiscal growth. </>
The main purpose for which this organization was formed is to act as the regional linkage of all credit cooperatives and other type of cooperatives with savings and lending services in Metro Manila. It shall provide a wide-range of business opportunities for its member-Cooperatives, which will include among others, the availability of Central Finance Facility, Protection and Stabilization Fund, Deposit Guarantee, Mutual Benefits and other income-generating products and services. Through its Training Institute, pool of Development Educators who trained abroad and other highly qualified trainers, it provides cooperative educations and trainings. PFCCO-NCR highly regards education and development programs as extremely substantial in bringing into being cooperative experts and professionalized cooperative operations. As to social advocacies, the Federation promotes poverty alleviation, environmental concerns, gender equality, youth empowerment, and linkages with trusted dependable local and international social developmental organizations.
Presently, the PFCCO-NCR is being composed of different clusters of cities and municipalities known as Chapters that serves as coordinating committees of the Secondary Cooperative Federation. Nine (9) members of Board of Directors with the Committee on Credit, Committee on Audit, Committee on Election, Committee on Ethics, Committee on Mediation and Conciliation, Education Committee and its Management group are managing its affairs.
