The International Day of Cooperatives (CoopsDay) is celebrated every first Saturday of July to raise awareness about cooperatives and highlight their role in advancing social and economic development. It underscores how cooperatives provide sustainable, inclusive solutions to global challenges while building a better world.

First observed in 1923 by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and officially recognized by the United Nations in 1995, CoopsDay honors cooperative enterprises for empowering people, strengthening communities, and upholding the values of democracy, solidarity, and sustainability.

For 2025, the official theme announced by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) is:
🌱 “Cooperatives: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World.”

✨ “This year’s theme reflects both the identity and urgency of the cooperative model,” said Wenyan Yang, Chair of COPAC. “In a time of global uncertainty, cooperatives are showing that development can be democratic, inclusive, and rooted in solidarity. CoopsDay 2025 is our chance to amplify that message to the world.”
